What happens if I need to change my address?

You are free to change your address even after the survey is filled out, up until the items arrive to me. I will send out an email notification 48 hours prior to locking in orders for any last minute changes before I ship everything out.

When should I expect the item to arrive? Can I get a refund?

I am expecting to get everything in hand and shipped out by April 2024. You should be receiving your rewards shortly afterwards. Please refer to the shipping estimates section of the Kickstarter to determine how long it will take for the package to arrive in your country!

May I purchase something in your online store to have it ship together with my Kickstarter reward to save on shipping?

Yes! View my online store here: https://xiumai.ca/ Please include a note in the cart asking me to combine with your Kickstarter reward, and make sure the name and shipping addresses match on both orders. If your order in my store contains a pre-order, your Kickstarter rewards won’t ship until everything is ready. Excess shipping costs will be refunded at the time of shipment.

Can I get a refund?

Kickstarter is not an online store, but a funding platform. All funds raised from the Kickstarter goes into producing the items, and refunds cannot be issued once payments have been processed. Please also take note of the estimating shipping date, as items need to be produced after I have taken into account everyone’s preferences on designs. For emergencies, 85% can be refunded (non-refundable 15% kickstarter/bank fees/backerkit fees).

It is not recommended you purchase anything here for time sensitive events as possible delays can occur (i.e., manufacturer closures and holidays)

After I've submitted my survey, may I change the design/size of the item I initially ordered?

Please contact me ASAP at [email protected] if you would like to make changes to your survey! I cannot guarantee I am able to do this after orders are placed, but if I have enough extras, I can make changes to your order.

How will I know my order has shipped?

Please keep an eye out in an email! BackerKit will send you a confirmation email with your tracking information once it is ready to be shipped out. Please refer to the main Kickstarter page for shipping estimates (varies depending on country being shipped to).

Will there be a longer version of the sweater/different colourways available?

At the moment, because the minimum order quantity is quite high and would apply to every new variant I make, I have yet to add them as a possible stretch goal in the campaign. Should anything change, I would love to make them a real option.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
